I wondered in here just based off of the name knowing nothing about it, but to my delight it ended up being one of my favourite places in the city and particularly in this part of town. I went in and the smells and foods instantly reminded me of my Jewish upbringing. The man was very nice and walked me through everything for at least 45 minutes while constantly giving me samples voluntarily. This place is a definite must if you are in this part of town or even just passing through the city. I ended up purchasing many different fish, my favorite being the whitefish. I also need to come back and get the tuna salad that I tried on my way out and was so very delicious.
MoreI bought some things for the passover seder here, and was extremely disappointed. The gefilte fish was exceptionally bad, the horseradish had almost no horseradish in it (and a terrible acidity), the chicken soup included unreasonable amounts of fat. The chopped liver was ok.

I ordered a Tuna sandwich on Rye bread it was the best Tuna sandwich I have had the tuna had a perfect balance of flavours and bread was super fresh. Great shop definitely worth a visit.
